Join Us!

The East Bay Recorder Society (EBRS) is an association of recorder enthusiasts in the San Francisco Bay area. Recorder players from beginning to advanced levels are invited to join, to play music together and to learn more about the recorder with a different professional conductor each month (September-May or June). We have the 2022/2023 season membership forms uploaded to our "Join Us!" page where you can either pay by check or use PayPal. But for your information, if you wish to attend for a first time as a non-member, it is free (with a $10 charge for additional monthly or special meetings thereafter until you join).

Monthly Playing & Special Events

Our conductor locater, Rachel Bradley, has arranged all the conductors for our 2022/2023 season, which you can read on our "monthly" page. Our special events scheduled for the upcoming 2022/2023 season will include our upcoming Members' Recital March 26th (see our "special" page).

Our monthly playing continues in March with Greta Haug-Hryciw conducting. Music in the 22-23 season will be available ONLY in pdf for all meetings, emailed in advance, so please print yours out to bring and use. Members will also receive, around the end of the month, an email including the Zoom-link and password for the meeting since we have been providing hybrid sessions (in person and with Zoom).

We will be requiring at-home Covid testing the day of the playing if you plan to play in person, and if possible, bring your NEGATIVE test to the event in a zipped baggie, or a date-stamped photo otherwise. Of course, positive tests STAY HOME, as well as if you have symptoms of any illness.

The Zoom committee needs you!
It’s great to have the option of attending EBRS playing sessions virtually. Friends who have moved, are traveling or, for whatever reason, are not able to attend in person can join in. Ray White and Glen Shannon have made this happen for the last couple of years.  Many, many thanks!
The Zoom committee needs help. Volunteers are needed to handle the on-site piece of the Zoom setup. Glen has written a "cheat" sheet to guide you in doing this. Anna Lisa Kronman was the first volunteer and handled this job at Zion on March 3, 2023.  For our next Saturday morning, April 1st playing session, if you will be attending by Zoom, Ray White will be our anchor at his home. Anna Lisa Kronman & Cindy Keune will be the volunteer Zoomers at Zion.  This is not a lifetime commitment. Please consider giving this a shot!

The East Bay Recorder Society makes this work available to the recorder community in commemoration of Eileen Hadidian.  It may be used freely for any non-commercial purpose.  This compilation of accessible music for amateur ensembles includes duets, trios, quartets and a quintet drawn from a wide variety of public domain sources.
