Welcome! We hope you will be able to join us in convivial music-making.

Join Us!

The East Bay Recorder Society (EBRS) is an association of recorder enthusiasts in the San Francisco Bay area. Recorder players from beginning to advanced levels are invited to join, to play music together and to learn more about the recorder with a different professional conductor each month (September-May or June). Please go to our "Join Us!" page for our membership form. But if you wish to attend for a first time as a non-member, it is free (with a $10 charge for addtional monthly meetings thereafter until you join).

Our monthly playing sessions for the 2019/2020 season were expected to continue Saturday 10:00am -12:30pm April 4th with conductor Andrew Levy and Friday evening May 1st with conductor Andy Canepa. However, due to Gov. Newsom's request in mid-March for house isolation followed then by more extensive regulations to "shelter in place" our planned monthly playing sessions April 4th and May 1st have had to be cancelled. However, we are in discussion with Andy to see if some type of online event might be feasible, and will keep you posted on our "monthly" page.

Meanwhile, it is with considerable regret that we have also decided to cancel our planned May 16th "Headlands in Berkeley" all day workshop. We do so with a "cancellation for now" thought since if it becomes possible to reschedule we would hope to do so.

The East Bay Recorder Society makes this work available to the recorder community in commemoration of Eileen Hadidian.  It may be used freely for any non-commercial purpose.  This compilation of accessible music for amateur ensembles includes duets, trios, quartets and a quintet drawn from a wide variety of public domain sources.
