Join Us!

The East Bay Recorder Society (EBRS) is an association of recorder enthusiasts in the San Francisco Bay area. Recorder players from beginning to advanced levels are invited to join, to play music together and to learn more about the recorder with a different professional conductor each month (September-May or June).

Our 2024/2025 season began with a monthly playing session in September and our tenth playing session will be our June playing session conducted by Frances Feldon Friday, June 6th beginning at 7:30pm.

Our 2025/2026 season membership form will soon be downloadable as a pdf from our "Join Us!" page at www.eastbayrecorders.org (Joining us is easy. But if you wish to attend for a first time as a non-member, it is free, with a $10 charge for additional monthly or special meetings thereafter until you join).

We continue to be requiring at-home Covid testing the day of the playing, and if possible, asking that you bring your NEGATIVE test to the event in a zipped baggie, or a date-stamped photo otherwise. Of course, positive tests STAY HOME, as well as if you have symptoms of any illness.

(Since music is not provided at the playing sessions but rather is sent in advance as pdf's to members, you would need to contact us to arrange to have the music sent to you if you are not a member. Please see our "Contact" page.)

Our 2024/2025 season had a Fall Workshop led by Rotem Gilbert on Oct 14, 2024, Monday, Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day. Our next "Special Event" was also a regular playing session for January, as Shira Kammen conducted us on Sunday January 5, 2025 for "12th Night". Our following special event was our Members Recital on Saturday March 22, 2025, at Hillside church. Go to our "Special Events" page for more details.
